Day 5 of Colorado Trail: Exploring Conifer

Today, I started walking to Conifer around 7:00 AM, hoping to resupply and mail some items to lighten my pack. I managed to shed 6 lbs of unnecessary gear. During my walk, I tried to hitch a ride, but no one stopped. Although I had water, I was running out quickly. I walked nearly the entire way until I could see the overpass. At that point, I stopped, took out my phone, and ordered an Uber.

While walking, I kept reminding myself how wonderful it is to be out in nature, enjoying the experience. This helped me stay positive despite not getting a ride. Finally, I reached Safeway and Natural Grocers, then sat in Starbucks for about an hour. Afterward, I went to the UPS store to mail off my items and ordered an Uber to get back to camp.

I was really worried about finding an Uber for the return trip, but the driver was incredibly kind and willing to drive me all the way back to camp, which was about 20 miles. Overall, it was a fantastic day of walking, taking photos and videos, and having great conversations with my Uber drivers and other people I met in town.
